I worked at Warner Music as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

The intern program is well structured from the HR side. You'll get to the chance to take part in a lot of different events and focus groups that look awesome on your resume, especially if you're a marketing person.

Cons

The whole idea of "intern rooms" hurts your internship experience. I barely saw my boss, only really interacting with her when I first came in, and then via email throughout the day. You don't really get to meet the other people in the office, just other interns, and in my experience you get a lot more out of an internship when you meet professionals in other departments.

Advice to Management

Ideally-- Get rid of the intern room and just move people around so each department has an intern desk mixed in with regular employee's desks.

Realistically-- Do employee/intern mixer events

    Pros

Fun industry, casual environment, free music and concert tickets. Lots of cake and champagne during office events.

    Cons

Very little opportunity for advancement. Senior level managers are biased in their decision making. If you are trendy, pretty and young, you are excused. Very outdated system/environment. Female assistants end up being secretaries for a while. Male assistants are easily promoted.

    Advice to Management

    Stop being biased. Be fair.
