I worked at Waste Management full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Stable in field positions. Good experience. Stable company for the most part. Great benefits package. Most of management is very dedicated and watches out for their employees.

    Cons

Very hard to create change especially on the employee engagement spectrum. Company tends to make mistakes on hiring senior leadership especially in the Customer Service/Experience & Employee Engagement arenas. They continuously hire huge project teams, only to realign and release everyone six months later.

Not on the high end of the pay spectrum and the work is not always glamorous. IT leadership is very slow making decisions.

    Advice to Management

If you have a vision for a major company project or employee initiative stick with it. Don't mothball it every 6 months because of budget. Invest for the long term, not the short.

I worked at Waste Management full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The money is good. If you can ever survive the training.

    Cons

Having to trick customers into contracts and having to point out their contracts auto renew in the fine print of their original contract. Having to argue with customers on the phone.

    Advice to Management

Better training programs, Better leveraging tools.
