I worked at WellPoint full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

There are smart people that work there and the Thousand Oaks office is nice.

Cons

Company is consolidating office buildings and cubes are getting smaller. WellPoint goes through re-orgs every 8 - 12 months which can put you in a position of having to "re-prove" yourself to new management. Puts you in a position of continually 're-inventing' the wheel rather than building off of past learnings.

I worked at WellPoint full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent Salary. Hours working.. Monday to Friday..pretty A-ok.

    Cons

You should keep in mind on a very serious level ( that is if you are a decent person )..that your time there will not last. You will be shocked. You will wonder why you accepted employment there. You will wonder why this organization is still alive. You will in a situation of shame by many customers as you talk to them by why they are cancelling their insurance. What do you do.. knowing that you have a sense of decency about what US Americans are paying for!? They are paying for nothing! The customer(s) pay for nothing..but problems.. Wellpoint is a major joke.

    Advice to Management

Get RID of yourself as MGMT. Most especially those 'so-called" management people at 700 Broadway on the 4th Floor in Denver, CO. Stop playing the puppet role. Stop getting rid of good US American Citizens who deserve to keep their jobs. Stop playing favorites. Stop your likes of A-licking employees. You won't last. Go to Church! Get some sense of decency and values in your personal and professional life. "G" Hope you & "JL" read this..
