I have been working at WellPoint full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Work at home opportunites, good salary, OK benefits

Cons

Frequent layoffs, outsourcing, no work life balance, high stress, constant change of direction. Company has greatly reduced benefits over last few years.

Advice to Management

Realize that your greatest assets are good employees and treat them well. It feels like we are all just a number at WellPoint and we have the reputation of being a sweat shop

I worked at WellPoint full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are smart people that work there and the Thousand Oaks office is nice.

    Cons

Company is consolidating office buildings and cubes are getting smaller. WellPoint goes through re-orgs every 8 - 12 months which can put you in a position of having to "re-prove" yourself to new management. Puts you in a position of continually 're-inventing' the wheel rather than building off of past learnings.
