I have been working at WellPoint full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Great pay, Excellent benefits, flexible work arrangements, many career paths, lots of opportunities for lateral movements, tuition reimbursement, encouraged to apply for other positions within the company if desire

Cons

constant changes, during crucial times of the year it's all about numbers, not enough employee interaction if you work from home, too much micro-management, not great raises due to annual/quarterly bonuses, some departments not working well and respecting others

Advice to Management

learn to give employees a break at times, driving and whipping a horse for so long will only result in failure.

I have been working at WellPoint full-time

    Pros

Good benefits including ancillary benefits with a focus on health (e.g gym discounts, Weight Watchers discounts, smoking cessation). Decent base salary.

    Cons

When I started with the company we were still non profit and there was focus on training internal employees. The internal to contractor ratio is now 4500 to 7500. No metrics to measure success of contractor contribution. Loss of inside knowledge. Difficult to advance in the company.

    Advice to Management

Four reorganizations in one year is not strategic alignment. It is disruptive and demoralizing. Seek advice from your internal associates as opposed to Consultants who often over promise and under deliver.

I have been working at WellPoint full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very efficient processes, people are happy with the company, and they are implementing innovative ideas.

    Cons

High expectations, which might be hard to keep up with if you are not used to performing at that level.
