I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Well known, household name. Wells provides a wide range of finacial products.

    Cons

If you join Wells Fargo Advisors as a Financial Advisor in Training, be sure that your friends and family are committed to transferring their assets to Wells during your apprenticeship period or you will be out the door. Wells does nothing to provide you with the support you need to build a book of business.

    Advice to Management

Extremely outdated propsecting methods (focus on cold calling). This approach might have worked twenty years ago but is a failure today.

    Pros

You get to put this on your Resume and get out!!!!!

    Cons

No future in department or advancement unless you play district politics/favorites. This department is a few years old and completely lacks structure. No career path, next level up is a 2 and only a "handful" of positions exists. Bonus structure is a joke and a lie. Bonus depends on how the district performs each month and you don't know what the monthly goal is or what to expect. Only top 5% get top tier bonus level, which they exaggerated about so much throughout your interview. Management gets paid for One Touch file submittal which is a perfect file not being returned with questions, therefore they make your job extremely difficult to submit a loan. You get paid on successful modifications, which is hard if you work your butt off to submit 10 loans in a month and 1 gets approved. It takes about 3-4 months to get paid out for loans that are approved and must qualify in that month’s tier, which is calculated at the end of the month. There are other opportunities to get a solution, which will qualify, for bonus. Modification is a solution, loans brought current is a solution, and a short sale is a solution. Usually you need 5+ solutions per month to get a bonus if the district performed poorly. However is someone that's been there years and has a huge pipeline and they get 15 solutions + they will get paid top tier and you will be compared to them that month and get paid a miserable bonus or no bonus. Department will end soon this is a temporary position make sure you think about that. When they close the department down what will you do? There are possibilities of getting a job in another department in Wells Fargo possibly.

    Advice to Management

Give your employees some hope. Raise the salary.
Hire competent managers not your best friends
