I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Good direct supervisors/team managers. Decent pay for an entry-level position. Good company-wide benefits. Good training program at the start, but the continued training seemed to be more around HR protocols, not really how to improve in the day-to-day role.

Cons

Large company atmosphere with a large amount of internal red tape. The role specifically could become very monotonous at times but it was well defined at the front end this would be the case. Was part of a larger layoff that was only driven by the fact that interest rates went up 1/2 a point or so - felt like just a number at the end.

Advice to Management

Site-wide management seemed to make zero effort to pass along higher level news/updates to individual teams, that was left to each team manager which meant the message would often be different than what other co-workers understood. Middle managers were not really empowered to institute changes or offer incentives for higher work performance.

    Pros

    Fun CO-WORKERS
Decent pay - Phone Bankers start roughly around $11-14 / hour
Decent benefits - Three weeks of PTO per year, double time and a half on holidays, medical, bereavement.
Casual dress - you can wear shorts and sweatpants to work.

    Cons

    MICROMANAGEMENT
Goes against a lot of ethics - 25% referral rate, 10% warm transfer rate. Yelled at for not making certain referrals when it goes against personal ethics.
Expected to get certain sales numbers while keeping call-handle time below almost 4 minutes.
Tend to have to do a lot of things against your morals and values to get ahead in this company.

    Advice to Management

Learn to care about your customers more than pushing products on them when they have no idea what the hell you're talking about.
