Pros

Wells is focused on being the best bank it can be. It sets high standards for itself and its employees and their work. It continues to work through the merger with Wachovia and is trying to be sure that its taking the best examples from both cultures to make a new culture. It does care about its employees.

Cons

Like all banks its heavily regulated and is dominated by legal, compliance and other departments who are watching risk and exposure. We want our banks to be stable, however depending on the department you are in (eg marketing, internet), you might find this stifling as you try to get to parity with the outside world. In addition the culture is heavily product focused and branch driven so the needs of the customer sometimes get lost.

Advice to Management

Continue to move to a more customer focused approach allowing the customer to interact with the company in the way they want. Invest in bringing the legal and compliance teams up to speed on technology and digital programs so they can truly understand these tools and how they can be used to create customer-centric programs.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Meeting all kinds of people.

    Cons

Salary is not great. Usually it is an hourly wage with commission or salary. If you make your quota you get a bonus at the end of the quarter. Management only cares about sales and your cust. service top boxes. You are a human sales robot. Also there is a distrubution of power among employees. One department thinks they own you and expects you to give them sales when the referral is not that great. Anyone doing this just remember you are a human sales robot required to sale such as new accts, credit card, loans, payroll, bill pay and everything else

    Advice to Management

Lower you sales standards because you are losing great employees.
