I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of company perks: dry cleaner, huge cafeteria, massages, gym etc.

    Cons

Too much pressure to meet matrixes as opposed to making sure your affiliate or customer is completely satisfied. Requires up to 5 hours of overtime a week.

    Advice to Management

Allow more time for completing comments. Need a better comp tier.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Wells is focused on being the best bank it can be. It sets high standards for itself and its employees and their work. It continues to work through the merger with Wachovia and is trying to be sure that its taking the best examples from both cultures to make a new culture. It does care about its employees.

    Cons

Like all banks its heavily regulated and is dominated by legal, compliance and other departments who are watching risk and exposure. We want our banks to be stable, however depending on the department you are in (eg marketing, internet), you might find this stifling as you try to get to parity with the outside world. In addition the culture is heavily product focused and branch driven so the needs of the customer sometimes get lost.

    Advice to Management

Continue to move to a more customer focused approach allowing the customer to interact with the company in the way they want. Invest in bringing the legal and compliance teams up to speed on technology and digital programs so they can truly understand these tools and how they can be used to create customer-centric programs.
