I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Great people, team members truly work together on behalf of the customer. The management team is accessible, down to earth and, for the most part, willing to listen. Team members stay for a long time, there is little movement at the staff level (but lost of turn over at the retail level).

Cons

Systems can be antiquated, middle management can often be a barrier. Run it Like You Own It culture can be difficult to navigate on behalf of the customer. Very risk averse. Not a lot of openness to new ideas, unless they are vetted for months. At the same time, open to GOOD ideas that show instant value, just difficult to get implemented. Lots of fiefdoms across the organization, can take years to build relationships that matter.

Advice to Management

Lean on the team members to do what they do best: work with the customer. Step out of your silos and truly walk the walk of One Wells Fargo. Work with high potential team members - younger than you! - to build bench strength.

    Pros

Great benefits, team environment, strong company culture and reputation. Performance oriented, which means people can move up quickly.

    Cons

Work-life balance is a challenge for management at many levels. Difficult to move between business lines (i.e. from retail to business banking, etc.).

    Advice to Management

Stay consistent with the vision and values of the company.

I have been working at Wells Fargo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is very little experience required for this role. Also, outside of work, there is very little stress.

    Cons

Few chances to move up in a quick manner. Everyone must climb the same ladder that will eventually end with a role as an underwriter... and that wasn't my calling.

    Advice to Management

Allow smart, dedicated employees to have a chance to move to different roles within the larger Wells Fargo family.
