I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Excellent benefits and overall compensation package (higher for technical positions) - decent training opportunities. Lot's of locations and many open entry-level positions.

Cons

Went from being a small community based company to a banking behemoth. As a result, change is constant and high stress environments are the norm - tends to breed low employee morale as the work/home and personal ratio is seriously skewed. With such a huge company, you can feel lost in the multiple layers of process they've built around things - slows production down considerably. Senior management seems a little out of touch with people in the trenches actually doing the work.

I worked at Wells Fargo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, lots of opportunity for driven team members with a work ethic at lower levels. Brand recognition, stability, a lot of resources to help you do your job.

    Cons

As you climb you will find the environment for more political and inflexible. Titanic egos with limited ability to admit others may have a better way, show up with greater frequency. Many decisions are made absent sound logic or logic not communicated to the teams. Salary compression from lack of reasonable merit raises is a factor the longer you stay as well.

    Advice to Management

When you see locations, areas or regions bleeding leaders out of the company left and right - there is a reason and it usually has to do with a leader higher up at that location. To allow it to continue smacks in the face of accountability and sends a terrible message to the line level team members. Also, consider whether you are shooting for a standard process or a forced process - standard makes sense but forcing every location to be exactly the same as every other makes little sense given nuances all regions of the country tend to have.
