    Advice to Management

Most of the call center atmosphere revolved around whether each member on every team was referring the correct amount of products and services to customers in addition transferring them to the sales department to have more accounts opened. Although team supervisors would inform their team members of the importance of excellent customer service during meetings held in conference rooms, when on the floor supervisors would often push team members to concentrate on referring products or services to the sales team to cut call time down, and maintain sales goal percentages.
The sales goals were not impossible to accomplish, the hardest part of achieving these goals every hour, day, week, month, and year was to successfully satisfy the customers needs, in a timely manner and your team supervisor's expectations by meeting your multiple goals.

Wells Fargo is an extremely large, successful, and respected company. I became very disappointed at the expectations and guidelines for phone bankers to be extremely customer service oriented but forced to see every customer inquiry as a way for customers to further complicate their situations and adding products and services they wouldn't necessarily need in order for the banker to meet company set goals, then quickly transfer the customer to another department to end the call and meet average handle time goals, and later on receiving the blame in a coaching session and reprimanded about why another customer was completely dissatisfied with the outcome of their customer service experience.

Although there is room for opportunity if you really stick it out and keep your eye on the possibility of not having to work weekends and holidays- After being trained for four weeks about superior customer service and very little on sales goal expectations- Team members are pretty much set up for a lose-lose situation that is very difficult to overcome with the little support provided.
