Approves of CEO

Pros

Because I work for such a large organization, there are opportunities for me to stay with the company, but at the same time explore different roles and gain other skills.

Cons

The hours can be long.

Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to invest a good amount of money in your employees to keep them happy and in their current positions.

    Pros

It might be a good place to "start" a career in finance but keep in mind that you will need to change jobs fast.
    The bank offers good training.

    Cons

The pressure for results is very high. Results come from sales only and unfortunately customer service does not coun to your performance.
The "team" concept is almost non existent since only individual results count.Pressure can produce dollars results but also produces a terrible environment to work. Branch managers are usually not prepared to deal with people only with bank procedures.

    Advice to Management

Please pay attention to your employees not only to the numbers.

    Pros

Wells offers more training than most banks, has a well articulated corporate values & mission statement. Wells also offers some good potential to move up if you are willing to move around.

    Cons

Wells is very gimicky and slow to increase pay. They will promise a lot but steadily and consistently undermine the value of your pay package with "adjustments" to bonus programs. Wells also suffers from a huge amount of cronieism. Being a chear leader is much more important than results as everyone lines up to look their best by stroking each and every promotion or idea that comes through.

    Advice to Management

The sales goals need to match the performance evaluation criteria. As of 2007 the correlation was weak. Also, title changes do not compensate for lousy raises, even if the practice is common for bankers.
