Pros

West is an innovative company that has had great success in its leadership of the Call Center business. There low cost model has made them extremely competitive. Their IT hardware infrastructure is excellent and fairly reliable. Most employees have a great opportunity to learn state of the art tools and techniques. Because of low pay, they rarely have any layoff.

Cons

The Call Center business is so competitive that salaries are low and benefits are few. So, West is a good place to learn, but not a good place to stay and make money. They are often short staffed in the high demand areas such as Telecom and Network engineers. Which makes it difficult to complete projects on time.

Advice to Management

There is a need to better evaluate the salaries of high demand job titles.

    Great Paid time off and unpaid time off ability
    Managment is openly available for assistance
    Advancement opportunities available for those willing to show they CARE
    flexable schedule
    constant and open coaching to advance agent abilities
    Open large work areas
    Good pay for work offered compared to other like jobs in area
    Great co workers
    Awesome support staff and employee relations department

    Cons

    If you dont come in, don't take the job serious (you are managing peoples accounts/orders - they expect what you would if you call in) or have a horrable work ethic you may conflict with managment and co workers

    Advice to Management

    Set consistant standards and make sure everyone is aware of all the changes before they take effect. If someone is promoted you may want to take the time to train them on their new job duties before you jump down their..... but mostly have consistant standards that everyone is aware of.... if they change let us know... alot of us do want to be our best out there.

    Pros

    Good PTO and UTO, if you stick around for a while and have a degree it is easy to move up, its a job...

    Cons

    Incompetent team leaders, team leaders dont get paid too much more then agents, up level management is disrespectful to low level employees

    Advice to Management

    Treat your agents with more respect, your jobs depend on them doing a good job with the customers that they serve.
