Pros

Good cafeteria, gym and parking. Decent benefit plan. Some really good people who want to do good for public safety and 9-1-1.

Cons

It is noisy in a lot of areas that distracts productivity. There are too many senior managers for the number of employees. The inflexibility of a technology company is scary. Too much emphasis on marketable product not good product. Very limited by organizational silos. Lack of pay raises for several years will ultimately hurt the company. Professional training is limited. There is a disconnect between the various offices which enhances organizational silo problems.

Advice to Management

It is a big company, stop depending solely on former dispatchers to run it. You have talent that you don't listen to or use. Become more flexible, more responsive and more pro-active.

    Pros

    The facility is nice. In general, the people are great and care about public safety.

    Cons

    The company has outgrown the founders and they are holding the company back. The company needs turnover at the top in order to turn the company around and make it successful again. Executive leadership is far too deep in the weeds in some areas and not involved enough where they should be. They don't want to hear the truth. There is a general lack of trust throughout the organization. Roles and responsibilities are not clearly defined so anyone can stop progress simply by inserting themselves and getting in the way. Benefits are bad and it's almost impossible to recruit good quality people.

    Advice to Management

    Empower people and get out of the way.

    Concerned about well being of employees
    Good work out facility & showers

    Poor environment for software development, physically and organizationally
    Some management does not encourage employee participation or listen to ideas
    Communications between organizations is not always good.
    Inconsistent policies across organizations.

    Advice to Management

    Build an environment where employees are encouraged to participate rather than one where they are discouraged or appeared to be ignored.
