Pros

Lots of great experience to be had. Many promotion opportunities if you are willing to work hard. Pay is ok if you're just starting out. Great resume builder.

Cons

Mediocrity is too often accepted. Good employees don't often receive more pay for a good job. Too much emphasis on "bonus plan" for salaried employees. The best employees often leave for better opportunities with better pay/perks. This creates regular turnover.

Advice to Management

Make more of an effort to keep reliable employees. They don't come around often, and are quick to move on due to lack of recognition and pay.

    Pros

They'll hire almost anyone and try them out. Mostly competant and likeable coworkers. Nature of business allows some work hour flexibility.

    Cons

They hire you by offering a commission, but its really a bonus - and they do everything they can to avoid paying bonuses, including changing the bonus plan every 2nd month. Then they start writing up warnings when you don't make bonus. Most people don't get bonuses, so only expect your low hourly pay. Its really a tryout - don't expect to be there long. They terminated half of my training class by the time I left, and per the one person there for a few years, only one person from each training class remained. The 401K match sounds great, but you're not vested in any of it until your 3rd year - good luck seeing any of that.
