Pros

Great people to work with.

Cons

Community Bank, even though promote within the majority of the time higher level position take a long time to open for opportunities. What's great is many of the employees that work at WSB has worked there for many, many years.

Advice to Management

With the evolving business and technology industry it is important to provide continuous training to all employees.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

They are truly focussed on the customer and satisfying their needs regardless of whether a sale is made or not. Branches are given some flexibility to meet the staff's needs concerning hours.

    Cons

Lack of upward mobility, low annual income, high cost of insurance, horrible lack of communication from upper management, lack of positive reinforcement to name a few. They discontinued the incentive program (modest as it was) at the beginning of 2009. This company also gives the impression that the branch staff supports the backroom staff instead of the other way around. The reputation in the branches of management is that they will spend a dollar to save a penny. Human Resources tends to believe the first person to come to them with a complaint about another employee. HR also encourages employees to bypass their manager and come directly to them with problems.

    Advice to Management

Listen and trust your branch managers and branch staff. Increase salaries and reinstate the incentive program - don't rely on "if you do a good job you get to keep your job". Stop the shops - they are inconsistent and are not relevant to the staff.

    Pros

Standard bank, quite boring. This bank makes strong effort to cut costs. Understandable, until you realize they underpay their employees.

    Cons

The work is very nuanced and specific, for understandable reasons. I felt as if i was underpaid for the amount and nature of the work i was doing. This bank ironically is like every other bank despite their slogan of " Unlike any other bank".

    Advice to Management

Try to make some type of edge in the retail banking industry alongside your "customer service".
