I worked at Westgate Resorts as a contractor (Less than a year)

Pros

Sales training is very good, could be much better but still very good.

Cons

You literally have no job security, you will be hired and as soon as you sold enough to cover with your commission what they paid you at the beginning, you will be fired.
Unless you are a monster sales from day one, which is very hard and or you don't have a real estate license which makes you basically a salaried employee, you will be terminated. The termination does not happen because of you or your performance, it happens because the company use and abuse the employee and when the season slow down hey just get rid of you.

Advice to Management

The advice is that you should give people a bit more chance to get better at their jobs, especially a job where you need to build confidence and a pipeline of referrals and clients. The few months you are left there to work is a joke and to expect a person to blow it off the water when all new hires get the Crap tours and the experienced ones get the most promising ones would work great if you gave the new hires more time to learn the process. Most people get fired by the time they are becoming better and are starting to sell, so by firing them, they don't have to pay the commission (and this is a dirty legal trick that should Become a lawsuit) owed and that commission basically paid the couple months you been employed there. So you work for free. Beware it is a common practice of many timeshare companies.
But Westgate is the worst and management should change this bad practices even if at first it looks like they are loosing money.

I have been working at Westgate Resorts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very relaxed atmosphere. Most of the people that work there are friendly. Flexable schedules.

    Cons

Not a lot of opportunity to advance within the company. Management has no idea what is going on in their own resort. Benefits are very expensive.

    Advice to Management

You should know how to do any job that you oversee. Learn the resort policies and check in procedures.
