Negative Outlook
Approves of CEO

I worked at Westinghouse full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Lots of new, young, outside employed engineers about 4-6 years ago during the nuclear boom - forced change in old processes, good pay for the Pittsburgh area

Cons

Poor management that doesn't know how to work together for a common goal. Old fashioned library type atmosphere, older employees do not appreciate what new employees can bring to the industry that is in need of great change.

Advice to Management

Listen to the young and new people you brought in from the outside that you paid so much money to get - they have lots of insite even if its things you don't want to hear.

I have been working at Westinghouse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A company that has a strong future in Nuclear Technology provided success with the AP1000 installations and a culture change from senior management down.

    Cons

Poor senior management focus on strengthening the project management discipline. Poor project management governance in silo's of the company. Senior management is now taking away perks for employees in efforts to cut costs but does not see where employee morale is taking hit. Expect attrition from from top talent across the company.

    Advice to Management

Needs a culture change. Management is starting to see that the company's core competency is Project Management and there is the need to invest in strengthening this area across the board in every area of the company to insure future sustained success by averting cost of poor quality.
