I have been working at Westside Community Services

    Pros

Great place to grow as a clinician and/or administrator. Westside is the first African American based community mental healh canter in the country.

    Cons

There is absolutely no parking and the cost of living in the bay area is very high. This is a difficult place to earn a liveable wage if you are an intern or new to the field.

    Advice to Management

I really don't hve advice except work hard and even harder and you will be suiccessful one of these days.

I worked at Westside Community Services full-time

    Pros

Great co-workers. Did not start out that way, but made tremendous improvements in that area.

    Cons

Management is extremely vindictive towards its employees. They blame them for everything that goes wrong at work. Management yells at employees which includes swearing and use of profanity. They have made employees cry on more than one occasion. Management is very combative with their employees and they do not listen to them. To many staff meetings and tremendous amount of paperwork. Huge staff turnover and... poor training. If you care about yourself or value your overall sanity, do not work at this facility. Also, it is extremely disorganized and severely understaffed.
