I have been working at White Lodging full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Supposedly there is plenty of growth in the company. The training documents are available for anyone in any department. They are a very ethically sound company.

Cons

Known for pulling entry level managers in to a position they are not ready for. Some may view this as a system of "weeding out" the people that do not belong, but to many times have i seen them sell a dream to someone and then stick them into a position they are entirely to overwhelmed in and then watch them fail and burnout. The managers I am referring to were college educated and very driven, but they were seated in wrong positions and the company lost out on really awesome managers because of inadequate training and management placement.
There is a training system set up similar to other companies where they bring in entry level managers to train in various departments, but I have yet to meet or work with a manager that has gone through the entire program. Most of the time they are just thrown into a position before they can be adequately trained.
There raises, or lack of, are minimal.
Bonus's are difficult and almost impossible to obtain.
Very few GM's and directors that are in their positions because of their talent. It seems to be more on who you know than what that person can bring to the table

Advice to Management

Entry level managers be ready to have absolutely no life, but be exposed to a lot you can learn from and take elsewhere. Upper management should already know what they are in for.
