I worked at Whole Foods Market part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

This company ensures that the people they hire are friendly, politically correct, and health minded, which creates a really great working environment regarding the community. I enjoyed the team spirit of my coworkers and the supervisors where really fair to everyone. You'll never miss a lunch break!

Cons

When your "team" in the department you work in isn't busy, they will transfer you into another department for the remainder of your work hours. You could start in administration and find yourself working in the fish department- even if that's not what you signed up for! Requires some flexibility, with hours and tasks your willing to do.

I have been working at Whole Foods Market full-time

    Pros

    Decent Benefits
    20% discount
    Not a very difficult job

    Cons

It seems like such a great company on paper, but it has been nothing but a letdown. There is no consistency with the schedule and we don't get the schedule for the following week until Thursday so it makes it very difficult to plan anything in your personal life with 3 days notice. I understand you have to work weekends in retail, but I haven't had a weekend off in 6 months and not having any set days off is extremely frustrating. The team leaders seem very inexperienced and sit up in their offices all day instead of helping their team. There are never enough people scheduled to work and the list of things you are expected to get done every day is overwhelming and unrealistic.

    Advice to Management

Really look at who you are hiring for Team Leaders. Inexperienced, unprofessional managers can really ruin the experience for a lot of new team members.
