I worked at Whole Foods Market part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Usually friendly coworkers, cool customers.

    Cons

While every product is exceptionally expensive, wages are near impossible to come by that allow you to live in a location where Whole Foods is incredibly profitable (areas like Marin County or Mill Valley, in which Mill Valley now has two whole foods with less than a thousand feet between then and are more profitable than when they had one store).

Everyone gripes about pay ( and for food reason) but the worst part was to be paid in contrast to the work done acting as subordinate "yes sir" to people who come in screaming because they can't find granola or in my personal experience being hit by a customer because of some vague attitude.

    Advice to Management

Try to understand where people are coming from who work for you. Its one thing to make a culture that really does reward loyalty and staying to work hard, that makes sense. It's another thing to make a boring job near impossible to do without wanting to blow your brains out.
