Pros

emp. disc., great benefits, great place to work and stay healthy, great stock plans and 401k

Cons

the downsides are nepotism, favoritism, they throw away a lot of good food. some stores have managers that are prejudist.

I have been working at Whole Foods Market full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Gainsharing Model allows employees to earn more from sales. Small business model for each department being transparent for each cost going into labor, materials, and miscellaneous items. Definitely learn to love food!

    Cons

Retention rate can be high depending on which department you are employed in. This means multiple part time workers that are not fully dedicated.

    Advice to Management

Hire reliable people to avoid a high retention rate which would improve the store collectively.

I have been working at Whole Foods Market full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

As a company, WFM is genuinely interested in the welfare and welling of their employees. Discount of 20-30% is great too! Excellent benefits, especially just being a grocery store. Non-union, which helps foster a "one store, one team" mentality.

    Cons

Customers can be entitled and rude. Also, being retail, you don't always get the best employee/coworkers and there can be a lot of slack to pick up. Pays well for a grocery store, but not enough.
