Recommends
Positive Outlook

I have been working at Williams Lea Tag full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Great people, enthusiastic, committed, hard working
Big emphasis on sharing knowledge and best practice, developing ideas through collaboration
You're made to feel like you're really valued and not just a cog in a machine
Nice bonuses (huge Christmas party, small annual incentives, discounted gym membership, etc.)
Well organised

Cons

Pay below the industry average (£5-10k in some cases)
Benefits aren't great (bike to work scheme, child care vouchers, PAYG healthcare, free eye tests for VDU users)
No formal pension scheme, opt-in on an employee by employee basis (although this will change with the new pension regulations)
No share scheme
No private healthcare

Advice to Management

Can be overly flexible in certain areas (too many ways of doing the same things) which can lead to inefficiencies.

    Pros

Holiday pay and PTO time is good.

    Cons

Very hard to move up unless you know how to play up to the right people. Pay raises are not good. If you get one it will be for as little as possible. You have PTO time but you must give 2 weeks notice or it is counted against you. Comunication is on par with talking to a wall but if the want to get rid of someone they will encourge you to report every detail you can then later they will tell you who told them. They will lie to your face and when you show them what they said, they will lie about why they said it.

    Advice to Management

Less head games and more professionalism.

    Pros

Williams Lea's clients are generally decent to work with/for. Coworkers are generally good people and know their jobs well. The company tries to promote from within before bringing in external candidates.

    Cons

Watch out for mission creep. Williams Lea has a tendency to agree to every request from its clients, even if it is not stipulated in the contract, just to keep the client happy and not lose the contract. This piles on more work on WL employees, generally without extra compensation. Pay is low compared to competitor companies. Some Williams Lea sites are better run than others.

    Advice to Management

Better pay will make for more motivated and loyal employees.
