    Pros

    Love the product!
Love the people at the store.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations given the payroll limitations. Training and growth non existent. Tools may be there, but no support to implement. Last year a new training program, it even specified timelines on the time it would take to do the training. In the original training documents it states that it was not meant to be a self taught, however, the payroll to roll the training out was not given.

Executive team does not want to see what it's like in an everyday situation. They plan a trip to see stores and all stops are pulled out to insure that what they see is perfect, not what's real. Staff is expected to roll out the red carpet, greet them upon entering the store, with a full team, never mind the customers who need help. They expect a white table cloth on the break table, with water and soda and beverages (and we have to know who likes what to eat and drink, god forbid you don't provide the right juice) , yet we do not treat the store staff that way. Senior management says they are commited to employee engagement and empowerment, however there does not seem to be any sincerity behind these buzz words. Currently the fear of retaliation is so strong and need for acceptance so high that until this company gets real, it will not reach it’s full potential, which is a shame. Supervisors make snap judgements about people and do not shake them, or are told to get rid of them. Respect has to go both ways, the store staff would be happy to roll out the red carpet, if they felt that there was any respect given to the staff.

    Advice to Management

Stop with the royal treatment when in the stores. Get real, find out what is truely needed. Inventory to support the customer demand, payroll to insure that the service expectations can be implemented. Training so that we have a knowledgeable work force, not just an enthusiastic one. Without the proper tools, enthusiasm only lasts a short time. I think Chuck Williams would be appalled at the way some of the people that work for his company were being treated. That wasn't his philosophy at all.

    Pros

proud of product and ability to run your store as if you were the "shopkeeper" ; freedom to implement new ideas

    Cons

no work life balance, too much focus on analysis of business through endless amounts of paperwork instead of time spent on salesfloor, lack of training program, terrible payroll constraints. Terrible loyalty to employees.

    Advice to Management

company is too top heavy, executives make outrageous salaries and provide field employees with poor pay. Upper management is not willing to listen to gripes and issues from the field and want stores to constantly paint a picture of perfection
