Pros

You'll learn a lot from knowledgeable industry experts. If you are a high performer, you will be recognized for your work. Your work gets shared with C-Level executives.

Cons

Pay is below comparable opportunities for analyst level employees. This is especially true if you come from a target school. This could have changed post-merger fallout.

    Pros

Good Work / Life Balance (get in the office at 8:30 leave the office at 6:00 (7:00-8:00 during high volume periods, 5:00-5:30 during low volume periods)
Great Benefits (DC and DB plan (DB plan going away))
TW helps you with your actuarial and CFA exams

    Cons

Not enough development opportunities. The work can get mundane (typical thought among many practices not just actuarial). May need to work some weekends (maybe two to five times per year for a few hours as client concerns are needed)
Low pay comparative to industry average (it is best to stay for a little while and then jump ship to a competitor)

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be better at recognizing people that work hard instead of simply giving everyone relatively the same bonuses despite ability.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Supportive co-workers, efficient use of time and resources, respectful senior management, abundant opportunities to shine

    Cons

Slightly less than industry benchmark of salary, pay raise for actuarial exam passed is low compared to many other competitors

    Advice to Management

Merger should not compromise on employee benefits. Raise the pay and exam bonus/pay raise associated with passing exams.
