Recommends
Approves of CEO

Pros

Smart people, great clients, great brand, interesting work, promotions at most levels are fair, good benefits, lots of responsibility regardless of level

Cons

Promotions at very senior levels can be slow, cash compensation may be lower than competitors and you need to consider the whole total rewards package, speed of innovation is slower than smaller firms

Advice to Management

Reward and recognize innovation by carving out time and roles instead of thinking it can be a hobby part-time while consultants are attempting to achieve high goal standards

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Larger organization with significant amount of resources. Global presence provides additional opportunities for selling to foreign companies looking to establish a US location.

    Cons

Very bureaucratic. Decisions are not encouraged at the local front line level. Simple salary adjustments outside of the normal review time end up in accounting desk in London. Acquisition of HRH left Willis trying to be both large broker to Fortune 500 and working with small employers.

    Advice to Management

Share the wealth with those who are working on behalf of their clients every day. Allow front line managers to make sound business decisions. 2% organic growth will not survive

    Pros

    Knowledgable and helpful co-workers
    Good office location
Opportunity to learn something new every day
They are good about giving you requested time off
They pay in full for related industry classes

    Cons

Senior management is not always friendly toward staff
    Lower than expected salary/bonus
Since the merger, the benefits appear to be getting worse

    Advice to Management

Give decent salary increases and bonuses to employees at all levels
    Communicate better with staff
Update the antiquated computer systems which appear to be from the 80's
