No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Wipro is a decent organization to start the career. But it is up to you to grab the opportunities and learn and get exposure towards the IT Industry.

Cons

It takes time for growth.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Brand Name
Onsite (if you manage to get visa)
Managers - They are so well talented

    Cons

Wipro makes money by employing Science grads and give them title Project Engineers
Science grads have a 5 year bond and replace almost all experience engineering grads who are asked to leave within 60 days of 'bench'
You are left with a bunch of Science grads from Zoology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics in your team whom you ll have tough time managing and grooming
Appraisal/Onsite based on a internal exam
HR policies are a total crap
No trainings, career Plan...you will be lying in the same place as a rock in the well

    Advice to Management

Learn from Peers like TCS, CTS in managing business
Remove inefficent manager who lack even basic communication, management skills
Employ more real engineers rather making profit from cheap labour

  2. "Good for learning, not for long term"

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Variety of projects, Good learning exposure, good training and well defined processes and policies. Good pay at the time of start/Joining only

    Cons

Very cheap mentality of middle level management, Very partiality based on which state you are belonging. Strong Tamilians loby. Less growth in salary. Though you clear all required exams for promotion, it will get to one who is doing buttering to managers.

    Advice to Management

Promotion process should be either based on exams or based on recommendations only. As after clearing all exams promotion is given to the managers close employee not to the one who deserves.
