Approves of CEO

I worked at Wolters Kluwer full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Good people, constant change. A lot of opportunity to learn and grow if you impress the right people

Cons

Constant change, lackluster management. Little opportunity if you're not able to catch the eye of the right people.

Advice to Management

Pay attention to mid level employees where all the real ideas for change and improvement will come from. Try to promote more from within, recognize that a lot of employess feel that promotions are based on "the "cool crowd" and not also who is best for the role.

I worked at Wolters Kluwer full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Generous PTO days for new employees, casual business attire, fairly flexible with work/life balance although it used to be better.

    Cons

Lots of change management, new executives are short-sighted and rule with an iron fist who seem to thrive on providing negative feedback to their employees instead of accentuating the positive side of their efforts. Technically behind the times and trying to fit into a digital world, not much career advancement.

    Advice to Management

Understand the business, industry, employees better before making sweeping changes.

I have been working at Wolters Kluwer full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Generous PTO, decent pay, good work/life balance.

    Cons

Random layoffs, lots of employees leaving due to unstable environment, senior management does not understand the market or their employees, they don't recognize or retain key employees and see it as a cost benefit when they are gone instead of realizing how expensive it will be to replace them in the long run.

    Advice to Management

Recognize who your key employees are and value their knowledge. Simplify your business model. Share your goals with employees if you want them to be able to implement your strategies. Pay your long-term employees better, at least bring them up to what a new hire in their position would make.
