    Pros

Woodruff is a wonderful, worthwhile and inspiring institution. Art in every form is all around you. Various ways of supporting the arts are made available to employees. Everyone is there for reasons beyond salary or prestige - they are all serving a higher purpose.

    Cons

There is only one person in complete control of the business management of the Center - and it's not the person who should be in control. The person is who is ruling all is incompetent, unprofessional and has substantial control issues. There is no reward for work well done, no recognition of putting in 10-hour days AS THE STANDARD, and no support for the higher aspirations of the Center as an artistic inspiration and support to the community. Those are the nicest things that I could say. Earlier references on this site are correct in their assessment of the WAC as place where only certain people can succeed.

    Advice to Management

The Board should have the CEO take control back. Responsibilities for the various business areas of the organization should be divided among VPs in charge of those areas. Diverse responsibilities should remain diverse to assure that voices and control are balanced among the different areas. There is no one, single person who is the expert in EVERYthing - and no one, single person should be given such power and control over an entire organization.
