      Groomers Beware!!

      Pros

Atmosphere is cute, but that is really the only highlight I'm recalling.

      Cons

Do not groom for one of these stores. They are all run by people who have NEVER worked in the pet industry before. Corporate does this on purpose so that they can retain maximum control. What previous reviewers said about corporate is dead on. They also try to bring groomers on at a low salary and ask them to supply everything on their own. Some locations offer comission instead, but they price match with Petsmart and advertise as a "high end" boutique. Poor salon set up and lighting, poor grooming scheduling because the owners literally don't know a Cocker Spaniel from a Lab - they also know nothing about the grooming process and will squash sales or make consultations awkward. Basically, do not go to one of these stores as a groomer and expect to make a real or reasonable living. They are not employee friendly, and they are cheap to where you have to buy your own, required, work shirts. Overall, worst grooming experience of my career.

          Pros

I'd have to say if you love dogs while also working in a relatively slow paced store environment where you're mostly answering calls from clients for grooming appts it is peaceful and a nice job for that. Very simple tasks where you and maybe another team member may work up front but usually just you.

          Cons

I'd have to say if you are young, wanting some sort of money to pull in and aren't to picky about your low compensation from this job surely take it! $14 an hour with no benefits its quite meh. Improper Training, the "manager" kind of just trains you by showing you the dog products of the store and then briefly letting you peek at the POS System. No discussions or explanations of how the store operations function, what to expect as your tasks, and the "manager" is not enthusiastic or direct with feed back. She will word feedback like a riddle or hint and leave you confused on eggshells due to poor communication. It is a hassle as it creates and uncomfortable environment and disconnect with her to come to for help or any questions. If you want a genuine team leadership where everyone can discuss resolutions to conflict, store ideas freely without condescending mannerism and tones AVOID this store.

I've completed an initial phone screening interview, followed by a 2-hour interview with the Department VP. Next in the process are three separate 90-minute peer interviews. Is there a possibility of another interview after the peer interviews, or should I anticipate receiving an offer?
