    Negative Outlook

I worked at Work 'N Gear part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Once you understood the ins and outs of the job, the independent work is nice. If you have a co-worker you get along with, that can really help pass the time. No one there to micromanage very often. It can be busy, but there's also a lot of down time. People tend to busy in spurts.

    Cons

Other than a 401k, Work N Gear didn't do much to reward long standing key holders. No full time work unless the boss was sick. Understaffed. Which is a catch 22, because if more people were hired, your hours would be screwed. No paid vacation or sick time.

    Advice to Management

To Corporate, manage and keep a sharper eye on your Store Managers. The one I work with seems to think she is untouchable. No real accountability as long as sales are good. Give a bit more to key holders. I think after a year, they should be able to get paid time off as well. Especially if they are reliable.
