The internal companies (WFS and Watsons) seemed to be doing anything they could to put obstacles in the way of each other doing anything. If you needed help, resources, assistance the default answer was always "No"
There are a core of "Golden employees" who seem to rise effortlessly through the company without having any real talent or value. If you get on the wrong side of them then your days are numbered. These people can be spotted easily as they seem to get a new job title every 6 months which has either Director, VP or SVP in it.
The senior leadership team will make a scapegoat out of anyone who puts their head above the parapet. Often these heads will roll to keep Miami happy, so they can say they've taken action when really they're just saving their own skin.
Too many in senior management don't actually have any substantive experience of working in the fuel industry.
