Pros

Best reason to work for World Travel Holdings was going on fam cruises (but not too many of them, as the same group of people always go and others don't get the opportunity). Also, when lucky enough for a vacation to be approved, receiving a travel agent discount had been nice. Oh.....Nice sized cubicles and comfortable chairs.

Cons

Constant changes.
What once was an easy going place to work has now become a miserable, not fun at all order taking call center.
You can not be yourself, instead you are to be robtic. Bonus plans which years ago had been attainable, are almost unattainable now. Pay plans keep getting cut (even before this recession). And year after year ALL sales agents are making less and less then the years before. The people being hired these days are fed lies. It's been double the work and less pay for most of 2007 and all of 2008. Sales coaches may be nice and if lucky offer positive feedback, but they are not empowered. They are only pawns in the game looking out for themselves as well.

Advice to Management

Try keeping your sales people happy and reward them from time to time. Stop making changes every quarter. Fix your scheduling system, it's a joke to have a computer program make the work schedule, especially when it doesn't function properly. Requesting vacation is a joke. For a travel company, you should not frown upon somebody taking vacation. And for crying out loud, accept vacation requests from time to time, not just during huricane season. Offer fam trips to different people each time around. The same people go ALL the time.
Empower the sales agents. And don't post phony reviews on here.
Such a shame, that what once was.....Isn't any longer.

    Pros

    Smart group of folks - passionate about travel. Organization cares about the needs of it's employees and is very fair in how and what it communicates about the state of the business on a regular basis - even and especially in times of economic uncertainty. Note - a new management team took over in 2006, however, many key execs are still part of the team.

    Cons

    Not as nimble as it could be - needs to be more of a leader in the only user experience of how it sells it's products

    Advice to Management

    Continue to be relentlessly focused on results and improvement through every area of the business.

    Pros

    several long-time key employess remain. people with good values and concern for others. in spite of current ownership, deep in the DNA of this place lives a concern for people that book their travel with the company. The customer does matter to so many of the people that still work here.

    Cons

    owners look at the world in unique ways...
    there is little expression of vision (i believe there is not one)
    days are long for a few key people that have tremendous work ethic but not so long for a cadre of loafers that always seem to survive the lay-offs. there have been more than 3 of those in as many years....

    Advice to Management

    pay attention to the stuff that really matters and get rid of the dead weight that still hangs around there. and for God's sake who needs 2 CEO's . Come on really!
