I worked at Xerox full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Good people who work hard at a company that has almost always been on the leading edge of technology.

Cons

Some senior management decisions were not in the best interest of the company or its employees. Letting Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniac into PARC is one that stands out.

Advice to Management

Don't forget that the best advice seldom comes from the top down, but it is actually the other way around.

I have been working at Xerox full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers, lots of access to learning

    Cons

Cut wages of lowest paid workers to increase revenue; sends high paying jobs overseas while bringing back low paying jobs; lost focus on customer relationship in favor of increasing revenue at any cost.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of Ursula Burns; stop trying to turn Xerox into ACS; put focus back on customers and recognize the value of loyal employees.

I worked at Xerox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Xerox provides excellent benefits, medical, dental, vision, 401K, affiliate programs for employee discounts. The Xerox brand is recognized world wide. Entry-level positions are given decent salaries with some opportunity for internal promotion.

    Cons

Expenses are scrutinized to the penny, cell phone bills are reveiwed for personal usage, meals are not reimbursed when making sales calls within 50 miles of your home - you are expected to drive home for lunch.

Xerox discriminates against women paying men $10-25K annually more for the same job with the same title. These same women have out-performed the men in these positions. Xerox has several EEOC lawsuits and investigations for Title 7 discrimation.

    Advice to Management

Paying women less than men for performing the same job is demoralizing to the whole team. It will cost you your best performers.
