I worked at Xerox full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Flexible hours depending on the job you were on, and the people you worked with were usually great. Good benefits, but they are cutting back as the economy slows down.

Cons

Promotion, as with many companies, was dependent on how well you got along with people. Politics is a main stay of a large company. If you were selected as a fast tracker, your success was almost guaranteed, but if not then it is easy to just get lost in the shuffle.
Software Engineering jobs are becoming scarcer in the company as it becomes more and more of a service company. At least to what it used to be.

    I worked at Xerox full-time

    Pros

Worked with some great people within my group. Outside my group, people were just scrambling to keep their jobs.

    Cons

A hardware company that was built on selling the big iron to large enterprise, yet, had no idea about the growth segments on a global basis. They do not know what it means to correctly position and brand a product, or re-position and re-brand themselves.

    Advice to Management

Look outside the box with a real effort. Don't just give it lipservice like you did in 2008.
