I worked at YMCA part-time (More than a year)

Pros

The people are great to work with

Cons

Often had to life guard way over the legal limit. Chemicals tossed into the pool by maintenance with very little thought. Chlorine never at the level it is meant to be.

    Pros

Flexible work schedule; free gym membership as an employee (full and part time employees); nice facilities; nice staff; diverse group fitness classes

    Cons

Recent restructuring of upper management has made me question new leadership values on living up to their commitments for helping the local community and school aged children who are underprivileged; I am weary that the annual support campaign funds help the community directly

    Advice to Management

    Pay your part-time staff better

I have been working at YMCA part-time

    Pros

I love all of the people that work there; everyone is so friendly and treats you like family. I've found each day to be a new learning experience and getting to interact with all of the members makes me feel like I am contributing to my community in a very unique but direct way.

    Cons

There's very low pay and a very tight schedule of hours due to the limitations on the number of hours we can get a week
