    I worked at YMCA full-time

    Pros

    * Free membership in all area YMCAs
    * Excellent retirement benefits and employer contribution
    * Chance to make a difference
    * You might have a great manager. Or you might not.
    * Relative job security

    Cons

    * Low salaries
    * Inexplicable management style in some branches/offices--e.g., a manager's staff got laid off by senior management without telling the manager first
    * Minimal access to IT resources
    * Not much of a career path
