I worked at YMCA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The feeling of community and the wonderful members. The Y provides a safe environment geared toward education, health and wellness.

    Cons

Executive Director does not support his management staff. 5 directors resigned in a bad economy within 30 days.

    Advice to Management

Low salary but rewarding work. Salaried management positions require 50-60 hours per week causes high burnout rate.
