I have been working at YP full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Even entry level employees seem to make decent pay. Flexible hours.

Cons

Poorly managed products with a lack of direction. If you get hired at a certain salary, you stay in that range for a long time. Not a lot of opportunity for promotion. Lazy co-workers.

Advice to Management

Try harder, or find people who actually try. Or just leave so that people who care about their jobs can take your place.

    I worked at YP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Solid pay and benefits while owned by ATT...that is no more...

    Cons

    Overall, just slimy people.....lied about our compensation plans, stealing leads, duping customers, lying to customers, horrible customer service, promise/insure/guarantee leads packages to customers that don't take into account solicitors using YP products which of course, are not good leads. You can sell an awesome package but when it doesn't perform, your commission gets charge backs even though product performance is on the performance management team, not you. Charge backs for everything...you'll make $100k if you're good, but half of it will come back in chargebacks so what's the point??? The salesforce is trained to lie to the customers to deceive them....don't believe me, check out the product reviews online...I felt like I needed to take a shower 10x a day working for these slimeballs...

    MICRO you to death....never had a sales job with less freedom...

    Advice to Management

    Quit hiring your friends, promoting the sleaziest people, grow up...this isn't junior high....

    Pros

    Driven, good-natured and helpful colleagues. Timely, constructive guidance from management. Interesting products. Ample opportunity to learn.

    Cons

    Lately, information on organizational and strategy changes has been limited. Partially because of management's focus on re-allocating costs by consolidating certain functions into specific geographic territories.

    Advice to Management

    Please focus on recruiting and managing technology staff, resources and salaries in-line with technology competitors. Avoid taking a one-size-fits-all approach when melding Sales and Marketing organizations with Tech. YP is equal parts tech. company and sales-machine. Both aspects of the business need to be treated in line with competitive standards for respective verticals.
