I worked at Yusen Logistics full-time (More than a year)

Pros

The company promotes team building and continuous improvement of employees and company processes. Very good insurance when I was there.

Cons

Not much vertical movement opportunities. Stingy with pay and raises, but maybe everyone is in this economy.

    Pros

If you screw up, you can just wander off somewhere else and let someone else inherit your nightmare and the task of correcting it, accountability is ZERO. Good benefits, cheap coffee, good people to work with.

    Cons

Anyone in any position of authority at this company has had a partial lobotomy. You will be asked to do ridiculous things, blamed for other people's mistakes, and pretty much interrupted for no good reason every single time you get into a groove and get a good pace going. Pay is lousy, checks are always missing hours or days or the checks just go missing altogether.

    Advice to Management

You're like little girls, you should be seen and not heard.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Health benefits were decent. It was also close to work and home. But that is about all.

    Cons

Management tells you one thing and does another. More than that, they second-guess everything that you do as if they don't trust you. This is also one of the worst structured IT shops that I have been a part of. They are more concerned about the confusing ticketing and project systems than they are about serving people and problem-solving. Critical issues, once identified, are not responded to accordingly and escalated properly by management. No leadership at all from upper management. No one talks or communicates to each other much at all. Not the most warming and welcoming environment to work in either. It's a wonder the people who are there have stayed there.

    Advice to Management

Lead your people, don't simply tell them what to do. A drastic overhaul is also needed of the IT department and the process flow. Very little guidance and direction is given from the leadership.
