Pros

My first-line leader is a great guy and understands work/life balance

Great Bonus Package

Cons

Recession has limited growth potential and promotion opportunities

Advice to Management

I think the management is focused on what it takes to maintain a great company. Their vision for future business and markets is detailed and engenders confidence in the brand and market potential. Looking forward to the next few years here.

I worked at Zayo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Many of the people at Zayo Canada (formerly Allstream Inc.) are skilled, experienced and good to work with. Benefits and salaries are decent, as are the quarterly bonuses.

    Cons

Since the takeover much of the interesting work has been shut down, with Zayo favouring a one size fits all dark fibre approach. How well that will work out with the distances and small populations in Canada remains to be seen. Zayo overall runs like a startup although they're now at enterprise scale, so I expect they'll face some challenges scaling up their own systems to cope with their size.

    Advice to Management

Letting go of the one size fits all approach both to customers and employees would do a world of good for company morale and customer loyalty.

I worked at Zayo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My former colleagues that are left slaving away with more work

    Cons

A company that supposed bought and integrated over 100 companies but did not have a clue on what to do with their biggest acquistion. Upper management only cares about the bottom line and not vested interest in the employee. "If you don't like it, look somewhere else" attitude

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect and dignity. Without them, upper management will not make their bonus targets
