I have been working at Zimmer Biomet full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Friendly corporate staff and the training can be helpful.

Cons

Corporate dealings with independent distributors are disguised as being amicable, however it seems that they are truly hostile and the future structure of the company is unknown. Price pressure in the industry is not handled well within the organization and results in an 'every man for himself' mentality.

Advice to Management

Unite your distributors and align incentives with the corporation, then get back on the offensive with competition. R&D is very offensive and bright, but this culture doesn't flow through to the execution in the field. Lots of traveling corporate staff will fly in to town, make promises to doctors, then never follow through with said promises. This hurts everyone in the organization. Perhaps the best way to describe the problem would be to simply point out who actually owns Biomet, PE firms who do not manage the business with the salesman in mind.

I worked at Zimmer Biomet as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Let's face it, it was a job. If you can put up with a company that is a bit lost in their direction, this may be a pro for you.

    Cons

Their stock price is not doing well and they have layed off employees. They have outsourced a few departments. They don't want to hire additional people and expect currently employees to take on the additional load.

    Advice to Management

I worked for you over the course of 3 years! I worked hard but had to leave for a much better opportunity. My advice is not to worry about the stock price. Worry about the people who do the work for you. Don't expect those already burdened to take on additional responsibility at the cost of their job.
