I worked at Zimmer Biomet (More than 10 years)

Pros

Loved the people I worked with, they made it amazing.

Cons

Employees are not treated as humans, they are treated like computers. Management acts like they were trained at the local zoo. (ONLY AT THE CORPORATE LEVEL) Training was horrible, just a bunch of people (Managers) sitting around and telling you how you will do something or else.

Advice to Management

You have some very talented individuals working for this organization. Take into consideration their lives and families. Larger companies have fallen because of poor management. Eventually the sheep will not come back to the farm if the poor management continues.

I have been working at Zimmer Biomet full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Interesting integration work as different divisions combine and acquisitions are made (e.g. purchase of additional Spine company in Colorado by the Biomet Spine division)
good co-workers. Initiated conversion from legacy midrange ERP to SAP

    Cons

Currently IT is being consolidated in Indiana so there are fewer positions in e.g. N.J. , Fla.
as changes are made IT for one division is being consolidated in Colorado, and even then not sure how long it will be before most of the key management positions go to Indiana

    Advice to Management

Consider a more decentralized IT structure - with the benefit of a better geographic area where to look for talent

I have been working at Zimmer Biomet full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

paycheck, can be used as a stepping stone to get experience for another orthopedic company, which many have done. Pretty good pay for small town.

    Cons

extreme stress, everyone in management afraid to make decision. gestapo like leadership at top. Every year since present top management took over employees have seen benefits taken away, such as medical insurance for retirees, paid holidays, and shares of stock options that had previously been given as incentive for good work. The lawyer and his minions want it all. The company has been sued twice in last 5 years for dishonest practices. Go figure.

    Advice to Management

leave, and replace with people who are honest and know how to run a business that cares about it's employees.
