I worked at Zions Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Great training programs for new hires and plenty of training opportunities.
Large banking presence in the State of Utah.
Many opportunities to advance.

Cons

Every month there's a new idea the bank is pushing out that will be forgotten within a year.
Base pay is low compared to competitors.

Advice to Management

Scale back on the harebrained ideas and focus more on the basics of retail banking.

    Pros

Enjoy my job very much and the atmosphere is very good.

    Cons

Their health care benefits are one of the worst in any industry. They are definitely the worst our family has ever had. We are extremely shocked by this and very disappointed.

    Pros

Technology was interesting, if management ever let you make decisions it would have been better.

    Cons

Benefits, especially Medical have to be the worst in the state. Forced into a high cost HSA plan. Only option they have. Switched jobs and saved over $7000 on Medical in the first year.

    Advice to Management

Fix the Medical benefits. Let your technical people make decisions and don't make them on your own based on what the technical salesmen tell you that you need.
