Negative Outlook
Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Zions Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Lot of good people but several of the executive officers are incompetent.

Cons

Management is out of touch. Relatives of Holding Company's CEO are not held accountable for disastrous job performance. Executive officers don't want to be confronted when their performance is poor and don't have any enforced expectations to change their behavior.

Advice to Management

Use of complaint system is used in an absolute vacuum without any competent management discernment.

I have been working at Zions Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Zions Banks is a great place for it's people to build lasting business partnerships. The organization is a good place for "corporate entrepreneurs". Zions Bank "feels" like a community bank, but has most of the resources of a larger institution.

    Cons

Too often managers are brought in from the outside and tend to be out of touch with the organization's culture and capabilities. Technology is really behind the times. The structure of Zions Bancorporation as "A Collection of Great Banks", running somewhat autonomously makes for much innefficiency. The back office help in Salt Lake City is not always the most helpful and is out of touch with the market place and needs of rural clients/employees.

    Advice to Management

Listen to and implement the advice of the front-line employees.
