Good learning in experience when it comes to selling a service and peer-to- peer marketing

Cons

A bit to demanding , especially when you have to "sell" to your classmates

Advice to Management

Focus more on promotion than gaining new accounts

    I worked at Zipcar full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Competitive benefits
    - 3 weeks paid vacation, sick days and personal leave
    - health and dental benefits
    - discounted car rental

    Cons

    High rate of turnover; ONLY way to advance in this company
    Lower than market wages ESPECIALLY in Canada
    Very little support from head office, Canada is seen as a second rate market even though we hold one of the largest market shares in north america
    Severely short staffed and expected to work long hours sometimes without pay (no overtime, therefore deferred hours into next pay period)
    Senior management is a joke, they will say and promise things but will rarely follow through, communication is on a need to know basis. Big changes that affect the office are relayed abruptly without much notice.
    Work culture has severely diminished since the IPO and is nonexistent especially after all the layoffs and structural changes over the last several months.
    Company values is no longer reflected in their actions. Management often place emphasis on profit margins over member experience and quality of service.

    Advice to Management

    Appreciate and value your employees, offer competitive wages and because if not they are sure to be unsatisfied with the lackluster work environment and will look elsewhere for employment.

    Working in a really competitive market place and overshadowed by its parent company who require cost savings
