Pros

- Environment and culture are a rare find - Teams worked really well together and attacked software issues head on, everyone had a voice - Agile shop - Working from home offered - Unlimited vacation day policy - Group activities offered at lunch and after work (softball, soccer, biking, racing, beer enthusiasts - case share, the list goes on)

Cons

As with every company there always seemed to be people in roles that weren't the best fit. Promotions within were rare and very challenging to redeem. Some weekend work was required for go-live release support. No yearly cost of living increases or reviews.

Pros

The People are the best I have ever worked with: Extremely intelligent and capable, dedicated to their job and their team, very friendly with only a few tensions noticed. Zonoff hires as much on personality as it does on capability. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Beer on tap for an instant happy hour after work, with great company, a ping pong table, foosball table, pool table, and a some gaming systems, for when you need to blow off a little steam and break up the day. The Management is the best I've worked with: very hands off and let's the scrum teams manage their own work and work schedule. I've had lunch with the CEO and he corroborates that getting the job done is the most important part, and anything that happens in between is your own business. Need sick days, nobody is counting. They rely on people being dedicated to the project, and I haven't seen or heard of anyone abusing the system. I appreciate that this company hires a diverse of people.

Cons

Zonoff is still young and incredibly unorganized in terms of not having an established process that comes with time. The backlog is reprioritized constantly, and sometimes requirements can change even in the middle of the sprint. We have retrospectives every sprint and many of the suggested, "what can we do better", rarely sees any progress toward improvement. We take on stories that haven't been fully developed with acceptance criteria so there leads to miscommunication between teams and developers interpreting it differently.
