Pros

There was a feeling of overcoming a challenge together. That is no longer on the table unless you are a part of "leadership"

Cons

I have been here long enough to see the work culture shift from start-up mission to savior complex. Those that love to call themselves leaders and have meeting after meeting are more interested in power and accolades then impacting the world. Some of these "leaders" actually use words like "greasy" to describe their selfish actions, and others overcompensate by talking about impact when us low level staff know they mean promotion for themselves. The part that is hitting my limits is the toxic positivity of the new CEO and her exclusive group of yesmen. We get it, you think you can save everyone inside and outside the company from whatever you are too good or too rich to suffer from yourself. Please stop pretending that your positivity is all that others need to be better in work or life.

Pros

Had a good manager, people were generally decent human beings, pay was market rate.

Cons

Leadership, as is the case in many startups, suffers from arrogance and lack of humility. Product is unnecessarily complicated and easily five years behind other mental health platforms. Micromanagement from executive team. Many hours wasted in team meetings that could have been emails. There are innovative mental health companies out there, but this is not one of them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I joined the company as CEO a few weeks ago and have been listening carefully to understand both our challenges and our strengths. While many team members have had a great experience at Headversity, it's clear that some people have had difficult experiences here, and that feedback matters. I take it seriously. I also see a team of incredibly talented, mission-driven people who care deeply about the work we do and the impact we make. My focus is on creating a culture where everyone can do their best work and where open, respectful communication is encouraged. If you’re a former employee and have feedback, please reach out to me directly at kelly@headversity.com. I’m listening and would truly value the chance to hear your perspective firsthand, so that we can use this as an opportunity for improvement. What I'd ask in return is that we keep our dialogue in this forum respectful and focused on solutions. Continuing to post personal attacks doesn't help us get better as a company and serve our mission. As a company, we have important work ahead, and my commitment is to move us forward, together.

Pros

You get to work with new technology. The regular employees are good people who genuinely want to make a good product.

Cons

The application has no clear objective or direction and is plagued with bugs. Development often feels reactive rather than guided by a well-defined product vision. Management is a major issue. There are dedicated employees who put significant effort into planning and implementing thoughtful solutions, only to have management abruptly change direction in favor of cheaper alternatives that don’t align with the product’s needs. The complexity of technical issues is frequently downplayed. There is a noticeable disconnect between management and staff. Many employees clearly disagree with leadership decisions but feel uncomfortable speaking up due to fear of repercussions. Communication from management is poor and consistently hurts team morale. A large portion of time is spent in meetings that serve little purpose beyond filling calendars. On top of this, the company experiences multiple mass layoffs each year, creating an ongoing sense of instability and anxiety.
